This Is Star Wars!

George Lucas once said that at its heart Star Wars is not a Space Opera, but a Family Soap Opera! Well it turns out another ambitious family soap opera has had the guts to compare itself to Star Wars and it sticks!

The Real MVP, The Big Guy, Smooth Swindler

Beth Pearson

Beth Pearson fights most of the battles behind the scenes that the rest of the Pearsons never could. She worked hand in hand with bringing the previously outcast William into the Pearson family inspiring many members of her own family to join her cause. She was instrumental yet again in bringing in a new member of the family to accept her family’s cause and she looked after Deja, while also managing many of Randall’s breakdowns and inspiring his best moments. (He is the best actor in the series). All the while She always has herself together. She has always got her partners’ back [Be it Randall, William or the kids] and they would be nothing without her support.

Toby

Toby Damon is a loyal partner to Kate and a fan favourite who everyone loves that would no doubt help get Kate out of any jam. The big furry guy is always there to step in to assist the big three if his help is needed, which is more than you would actually think. He has even more affection than he gets noticed for or gets put on screen. Imagine how he was mourning when the closest thing to a familial connection, [a possible child] suddenly died, [for more wonder where he was and how he was feeling while Kate was hugging Rebecca]. His intentions are frequently misunderstood or he at least worries about being misrepresented because there’s no one else around like him. You wouldn’t want to see him angry because the big guy would tear you apart. “I am Chewbacca!” – Toby

Miguel Rivas

Miguel Rivas was Jack Pearson’s most loyal and best friend in the galaxy and has helped him get out of one of many jams, even bad gambles that were Jack’s idea in the first place. Remember that time Jack tried to smuggle some credits out of a cash register to make up for a bogus gambling debt with gangsters? Good thing Jack heard of Rebecca at Ray’s Tavern in Pittsburgh or he would have gone down an even darker path. Even when he went off to administrate his own firm he kept Jack as a contact and presumably provided him with gainful employment away from what surely would have been worse company. When the Pearson family was suffering the loss of Jack Pearson he stepped in because he knew he was Rebecca’s only hope to reclaim love that would otherwise be lost. He gets dismissed by members of the family for being a poor man’s Jack substitute and fracturing the family but deserves more respect than that. He was Pilgrim Rick once, he pulled off that hat and was especially smooth enough to pull off being initially a supposed bad guy.

Wedge Antilles

Wedge Antilles fights most of the battles behind the scenes that the rest of the Rebel Alliance never could. He worked hand in hand with bringing the previously outcast Lando into the Rebel Alliance cause, while also inspiring many members of his own family to join his cause based in part on his inspiring strength of character. [Ewan McGregor/ Obi Wan Kenobi (the best and most important actor in the series is Denis Lawson’s nephew who saw the Star Wars films because of him] he also looked after Lando, and together managed to breakdown the Death Star II inspiring their finest moments. He always has himself together. He has always got his partners back [Be it look or Lando] and they would be nothing without his support.

Chewbacca

Chewbacca is a loyal partner to Han and a fan favourite who would no doubt help him get out of any jam. The big furry guy is always there to step in to assist the main heroes if his help is needed, which is more than you would actually think. He has even more affection than he gets noticed for or gets put on-screen. Imagine how he was mourning when the closest thing to a familial connection [Han Solo] suddenly died, [for more wonder where the Wookie was and how he was feeling while Rey was hugging Leia]. His intentions are frequently misunderstood or he at least worries about being misrepresented because there’s no one else around like him. You wouldn’t want to see him angry because the big guy would tear you apart. “I am Chewbacca!” – Chewbacca [Probably in Wookie]

Lando Calrissian

Lando Calrissian was Han Solo’s most loyal and best friend in the galaxy and has helped him get out of one of many jams, even bad gambles that were Han’s idea in the first place. Remember that time Han tried to short some credits to make up for a deal gone bad from gangsters he didn’t deliver for? Good thing Han heard of Leia at the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine in the 70’s or he would have gone down an even darker path. Even when he went off to administrate Cloud City he provided Han with contact and presumably gainful employment away from what surely would have been worse company. When the Rebel Alliance was suffering the loss of Han Solo he stepped in because he knew he was the only hope they had. He gets dismissed by members of the Rebel Alliance for being a poor man’s Solo substitute and fracturing the alliance. But deserves more respect than that. He blew up the Death Star once, he pulled off that cape and was especially smooth enough to pull off being initially a supposed bad guy.
